The memorial is 42 meters in height and 9.1 meters in width. It is a hexagonal complex made of yellow and red sandstone. The Amar Jawan Jyoti later added to the structure, has a cenotaph with a reversed rifle capped by a helmet. The flame, or Jyoti, constantly burns to mark the courage of our soldiers. This 50-year-old flame was released on 21 January 2022 and merged with a new one at the National War Memorial.
